Role Overview
The Odoo Accounting Consultant & ERP Configurator will play a key role in the financial configuration, deployment, and stabilization of the Odoo ERP platform within a high-volume retail and hypermarket environment in Accra.
This position sits at the intersection of accounting expertise and ERP systems configuration, ensuring that financial processes, accounting structures, and operational workflows are accurately translated into a robust, compliant, scalable, and fully integrated Odoo environment.
The role is critical in ensuring financial data integrity, accounting accuracy, system compliance, and smooth financial operations across accounting, procurement, sales, inventory, and reporting functions during and after the ERP implementation and go-live phases.
The selected candidate will support accounting process optimization, financial configuration, data migration activities, reconciliation controls, and reporting structures while ensuring compliance with operational and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Configuration & ERP Setup
- Design and implement a structured Chart of Accounts aligned with:
- Management reporting requirements
- Statutory reporting standards
- Operational and business needs
- Configure and manage:
- Accounting journals
- Fiscal positions
- Tax mappings
- Payment terms
- Bank integrations
- Customer and vendor accounting settings
- Set up and maintain:
- Multi-company environments
- Multi-branch structures
- Multi-currency configurations
- Ensure accurate financial flows and integrations across:
- Sales
- Purchasing
- Inventory
- Accounting
- POS operations
- Support ERP accounting process standardization and operational alignment.
Data Migration & Go-Live Support
- Lead financial data migration activities from legacy systems such as:
- QuickBooks
- Sage
- SAP
- Other ERP/accounting platforms
- Validate:
- Opening balances
- Trial balances
- Customer and vendor balances
- General ledger accuracy
- Support reconciliation and financial closing activities during transition and go-live periods.
- Participate in:
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Financial process testing
- ERP validation exercises
- Post-go-live stabilization activities
- Ensure data integrity and financial consistency throughout migration and deployment phases.
Financial Process Optimization & Automation
- Configure and optimize:
- Automated bank reconciliation models
- Asset accounting structures
- Depreciation schedules
- Financial workflows
- Improve and automate:
- Procure-to-Pay (P2P)
- Order-to-Cash (O2C)
- Expense management
- Payment processing
- Ensure automated and accurate journal postings across operational transactions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to ERP financial processes and controls.
Reporting & Compliance
- Configure and customize financial reports including:
- Profit & Loss (P&L)
- Balance Sheet
- Cash Flow reports
- AR/AP Aging reports
- Financial analysis reports
- Support:
- Month-end closing
- Year-end closing
- Financial reconciliation activities
- Audit preparation requirements
- Ensure compliance with:
- Accounting principles
- Internal financial controls
- Local tax regulations
- Financial reporting standards
- Coordinate with finance and management teams to ensure reporting accuracy and consistency.
ERP Coordination & Functional Support
- Coordinate closely with:
- ERP consultants
- Finance teams
- Operations teams
- Procurement teams
- External implementation partners
- Provide functional accounting support and troubleshooting within Odoo.
- Assist end-users in understanding ERP accounting processes and workflows.
- Support finance-related ERP training sessions when required.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience implementing and configuring Odoo Accounting modules.
- Strong practical experience with Odoo Accounting version v15 or above.
- Proven exposure to ERP accounting implementations within:
- Retail
- Hypermarket
- FMCG
- Distribution
- Multi-location operational environments
- Strong understanding of:
- Accounting principles
- Financial controls
- Financial reporting structures
- ERP financial integrations
- Experience with:
- Financial reconciliations

Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
